Q&A
Why are you passionate about caring for older adults?
I'm passionate about caring for older adults because it is rewarding to support their independence and well-being. This is a vulnerable population that can become isolated, have many health disparities and be at risk for neglect. I think it's important that we advocate for our patients.
What’s one small change that can make a big difference in the care of older adults?
One thing I believe that would improve the care of older adults is individualizing care for them, and making sure that we alter medications, plans of care, and make other adjustments to their care, so that their outcomes improve.
What do you hope to achieve in the West Health Champions program?
I’m excited to learn about initiatives and participate in quality improvement projects that will help us provide better care for our patients. Bringing that knowledge back to my staff will be invaluable.
